The Alabama LP Gas Code 2020 provides safety requirements for the storage, handling, transportation, and use of liquefied petroleum gas (LP-Gas) systems. This code applies to residential, commercial, industrial, and agricultural applications, ensuring safety for personnel, property, and the environment while enabling the effective use of LP-Gas.
Exception #1: Certain small portable cylinders (e.g., for camping or grilling) may have alternate requirements as specified in local regulations.
Exception #2: Agricultural LP-Gas systems used for irrigation engines or crop drying may follow specific exemptions approved by the authority having jurisdiction (AHJ).

- Cylinder filling must be conducted by trained personnel using approved equipment, ensuring cylinders are not overfilled.
- Inspection and Maintenance
- Regular inspections are required for tanks, piping, and appliances to ensure safe operation. Leaks, corrosion, and other defects must be repaired promptly.
- Maintenance logs must be kept for compliance with inspection schedules.
- Labeling and Signage
