The Alabama One- and Two-Family Dwelling Fire Sprinkler Installation Code 2019 specifies the requirements for the design, installation, and maintenance of automatic fire sprinkler systems in one- and two-family dwellings and townhouses. The primary goal is to enhance life safety and property protection by providing sufficient time for occupants to evacuate during a fire. The code applies to residential structures not exceeding three stories.

Exception #1: Non-habitable spaces such as garages, attics, and small closets are exempt from sprinkler requirements unless otherwise specified by the local authority.
