Since November 2007, when the Commonwealth of Kentucky established minimum energy conservation standards for new home construction, every new home in Kentucky must meet these minimum standards. When homes meet or exceed code requirements, it’s a good indication of quality construction and an indicator of whether the home is an energy hog.
