Overview ANSI/AWC SDPWS is a standard developed by the American Wood Council (AWC) that provides guidelines and requirements for the design of wood structures to resist wind and seismic forces. It includes criteria for the design, detailing, and construction of wood structural elements and connections to ensure adequate performance under wind and seismic loading.
The 2021 Ohio Wood Construction Wind and Seismic Code is based on ANSI/AWC SDPWS-2015 with Ohio-specific amendments. This code sets the minimum standards for the design, construction, and maintenance of wood structures to resist wind and seismic forces within the state of Ohio. The Ohio-specific amendments include additional provisions tailored to the unique wind and seismic conditions in Ohio, ensuring the safety and reliability of wood structures during such events.
