Overview ASTM A252 is a standard developed by ASTM International that provides guidelines and requirements for the production of welded and seamless steel pipe piles. These piles are used in deep foundations and other structural applications where the steel pipes are driven into the ground to support structures.
The 2010 Ohio Welded and Seamless Steel Pipe Piles Code, revised in 2018, is based on ASTM A252-10 with Ohio-specific amendments. This code sets the minimum standards for the manufacturing, quality control, and use of welded and seamless steel pipe piles within the state of Ohio. The Ohio-specific amendments include additional provisions tailored to the unique structural and environmental conditions in Ohio, ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of steel pipe piles in construction projects.
