Overview TMS 402/602, developed by The Masonry Society (TMS), provides comprehensive guidelines and requirements for the design, construction, and quality assurance of masonry structures. This standard covers both structural and non-structural masonry and includes provisions for various types of masonry units, mortars, and grout.
The 2016 Ohio Masonry Code is based on TMS 402/602-13 with Ohio-specific amendments. This code sets the minimum standards for the design, construction, and maintenance of masonry structures within the state of Ohio. The Ohio-specific amendments include additional provisions tailored to the unique structural and environmental conditions in Ohio, ensuring the safety, reliability, and performance of masonry structures.
