Overview NFPA 58 is a standard developed by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) for the safe storage, handling, transportation, and use of liquefied petroleum gas (LP-Gas). It provides guidelines and requirements to ensure the safety of LP-Gas systems and protect people and property from LP-Gas hazards.
The 2020 Ohio LP Gas Code is based on NFPA 58 (2017 Edition) with Ohio-specific amendments. This code sets the minimum standards for the installation, maintenance, and operation of LP-Gas systems within the state of Ohio. The Ohio-specific amendments include modifications to address particular safety needs and conditions unique to Ohio.
