Ohio Fire Sprinkler Code 2022

Overview NFPA 13R is a standard developed by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) for the installation of sprinkler systems in low-rise residential occupancies. It provides the minimum requirements for the design and installation of automatic fire sprinkler systems to protect life and property in residential buildings up to and including four stories in height.

The 2022 Ohio Low-rise Residential Fire Sprinkler Installation Code is based on NFPA 13R (2019 Edition) with Ohio-specific amendments. This code sets the minimum standards for the design, installation, and maintenance of fire sprinkler systems in low-rise residential buildings within the state of Ohio. The Ohio-specific amendments include modifications to address particular needs and conditions unique to Ohio.
