Overview The International Energy Conservation Code (IECC) is a model code that provides minimum requirements for energy-efficient buildings. It covers all aspects of energy use in both residential and commercial buildings, including heating and cooling, lighting, and power usage.
The 2019 Ohio Commercial Energy Code is based on the International Energy Conservation Code 2018 (IECC 2018) with Ohio-specific amendments. This code establishes minimum standards for energy-efficient design and construction practices for commercial buildings within the state of Ohio. The Ohio-specific amendments include additional provisions tailored to the unique energy efficiency needs and conditions of Ohio.
