Overview The 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design set minimum requirements for newly designed and constructed or altered state and local government facilities, public accommodations, and commercial facilities to be readily accessible to and usable by individuals with disabilities.
The 2017 Ohio Accessibility Code is based on the 2010 ADA Standards for Accessible Design with Ohio-specific amendments. This code establishes the minimum standards for accessibility to buildings and facilities by individuals with disabilities in Ohio, ensuring that these structures are accessible and usable by all individuals. The Ohio-specific amendments address particular accessibility needs and conditions unique to the state.
