Overview The Architectural Barriers Act (ABA) Accessibility Standards establish the minimum requirements for ensuring that facilities financed with federal funds are accessible to individuals with disabilities. These standards apply to a wide range of buildings and facilities, including those owned, leased, or funded by federal agencies.
The 2015 Ohio ABA Standards adopt the ABA Accessibility Standards without amendments. This code sets the minimum standards for accessibility in buildings and facilities within the state of Ohio that fall under the jurisdiction of the ABA. The standards cover various aspects of accessibility, including site and building elements, plumbing elements, communication elements, and special rooms and spaces, ensuring that facilities are accessible and usable by individuals with disabilities.
