Overview
The 2019 Residential Code of Ohio is based on the 2018 International Residential Code (IRC) with Ohio-specific amendments. This code sets the minimum standards for the construction, alteration, repair, and maintenance of one- and two-family dwellings and townhouses within the state of Ohio. It aims to ensure public safety, health, and general welfare through structural strength, stability, sanitation, light and ventilation, energy conservation, and safety from fire and other hazards.
