ASME A17.8 provides the safety requirements for the design, installation, operation, and maintenance of elevators installed in wind turbine towers, ensuring safe access for maintenance personnel.
The North Carolina Wind Turbine Tower Elevator Code 2016 is based on ASME A17.8: Safety Standard for Wind Turbine Tower Elevators 2016 Edition, with state-specific amendments and additions to address the unique safety needs of North Carolina’s wind energy facilities.
