Scope
- The Georgia Typical Timber Construction Details Code applies to the design, construction, and detailing of timber structures, covering load-bearing and non-load-bearing wood construction in residential and commercial buildings. This code provides guidelines for timber material specifications, connection details, structural performance, and durability to ensure safety and structural integrity in wood-framed buildings.
Exception #1: Non-structural timber elements, such as decorative features or partitions, may follow simplified requirements if they do not carry significant loads.
Exception #2: Temporary wood structures used in construction may have reduced requirements based on intended use and duration.
