Effective Dates

  • January 1, 2010 – Present

Adopts with Amendments

  • ANSI/AITC A190.1-2007 (Standard for Structural Glued Laminated Timber)

Scope

  • The Georgia Structural Glued Laminated Timber Dimensions Code applies to the dimensions, fabrication, and material specifications of glued laminated timber (glulam) used in construction. This code provides standards for glulam size, structural properties, and manufacturing processes to ensure consistency, durability, and load-bearing performance in structural applications, including beams, columns, and arches.

Exception #1: Non-structural or decorative glulam elements may follow simplified specifications if they do not carry structural loads.

Exception #2: Temporary glulam structures in construction sites may not require full compliance with the dimensional standards outlined in this code.
