Scope
- The Georgia Structural Concrete Code applies to the design, construction, inspection, and maintenance of structural concrete in buildings and other structures. This code establishes standards for concrete strength, durability, and reinforcement to ensure safety and structural integrity. It covers all aspects of concrete construction, including foundations, slabs, columns, beams, and walls, for both commercial and residential projects.
Exception #1: Low-rise residential buildings, such as one- and two-family dwellings, may have simplified requirements as determined by local jurisdictions.
Exception #2: Temporary concrete structures used during construction may follow different safety standards based on intended use and duration.
