Scope
- The provisions of the Georgia State Minimum Standard Plumbing Code apply to the design, installation, maintenance, alteration, and repair of plumbing systems, including fixtures, fittings, piping, drains, and water supply systems. The code ensures the proper functioning of plumbing systems while maintaining public health and safety.
Exception #1: Plumbing systems for one- and two-family dwellings and townhouses are covered by the Georgia State Minimum Standard One- and Two-Family Dwelling Code.
Exception #2: Special plumbing systems such as medical gas, water recycling, and backflow prevention must comply with specific provisions of other referenced standards, such as NFPA or ASME codes.
