Scope

This code ensures safety standards related to the structural stability, seating load, access, and egress requirements for these types of seating arrangements.

Exception #1: Temporary bleacher systems used for short-term events may follow local jurisdictional requirements rather than the full provisions of this standard.

Exception #2: Structures not intended for public assembly or mass seating (e.g., private residences) are not covered by this standard.
