Scope
- The provisions of the Georgia Private Fire Service Main Installation Code apply to the design, installation, and maintenance of private fire service mains, which supply water to fire protection systems such as sprinklers, hydrants, and standpipes on private property. This code ensures proper sizing, material selection, and installation of private fire service mains to ensure reliable water supply for fire suppression activities.
Exception #1: Small private properties, such as single-family dwellings, may be exempt from some requirements under this code unless mandated by local jurisdiction.
Exception #2: Temporary fire service mains installed during construction may be subject to different standards and regulations.
