Scope
- The Georgia Power Assist and Low Energy Power Operated Doors Code applies to the design, installation, and operation of power assist and low energy power-operated doors to ensure accessibility, safety, and ease of use. The code includes guidelines for activation force, door speed, and safety features, ensuring doors meet requirements for accessibility and functionality in various building types.
Exception #1: Manually operated doors in buildings without power assist features are not subject to these requirements unless modified for accessibility.
Exception #2: Temporary door installations in construction sites or similar settings may have reduced requirements if approved by local jurisdiction.
