Scope

  • The Georgia Metal and Flexible Duct Code applies to the design, installation, and construction of metal and flexible duct systems in HVAC applications. This code provides standards for duct materials, connections, sealing, and support, ensuring proper air distribution and energy efficiency in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.

Exception #1: Low-pressure ducts for non-critical air distribution applications may follow simplified requirements if specified by local jurisdictions.

Exception #2: Temporary duct systems used in construction settings may have reduced requirements based on the intended use and duration.
