Scope
- The provisions of the Georgia Fire Pump Installation Code apply to the selection, design, installation, testing, and maintenance of stationary fire pumps and related components used in fire protection systems. This code ensures that fire pumps are capable of delivering adequate water supply and pressure to fire protection systems, such as sprinklers and standpipes, in various types of buildings.
Exception #1: Fire pumps for one- and two-family dwellings and manufactured homes may have alternative requirements or exemptions under NFPA 13D.
Exception #2: Temporary fire pumps used during construction or emergency situations are subject to different requirements and are not covered under this standard.
