Scope
- The Georgia Aluminum and Aluminum Alloy Sheet and Plate Code applies to the specification, fabrication, and application of aluminum and aluminum-alloy sheets and plates in construction. This code provides guidelines on material properties, dimensional tolerances, and performance requirements to ensure strength, durability, and quality for structural and architectural uses in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
Exception #1: Non-structural or decorative aluminum applications may have alternative specifications if they do not serve a load-bearing function.
Exception #2: Temporary aluminum structures or elements used on construction sites may follow modified requirements based on their intended duration and use.
