This report describes the methodology developed by the Policy and Market Macro-Modeling working group, the application of which is demonstrated through an analysis of existing Class-A office buildings in the GPIC region. The applied methodology provides estimates of the uptake of energy efficiency measures in those buildings over a 40-year period and the impacts this has on energy consumption. The model allows these outputs to be generated under different scenarios, including business-as-usual and implementation of several potential policy options, such as incentives on equipment, modified energy pricing, and enhanced building codes. From these results, the report aims to compare and contrast the effectiveness (or ineffectiveness) of policy options.
