On August 22, BCAP hosted an information sharing webinar on an emerging best practice in building energy codes: state Energy Code Compliance Collaboratives. A compliance collaborative is a forum for experts from diverse stakeholder groups impacted by energy codes to come together to work toward common interests and goals. The collaborative is a long-term, multi-year initiative to assist its state in implementing a plan to achieve full compliance with energy codes.
The webinar featured progress reports from representatives of the six state compliance collaboratives BCAP helped establish in Colorado, Delaware, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, and Texas as well as the first collaborative created in Idaho. Each report highlighted accomplishments by each collaborative in the past two years and their needs to continue their success in the future.
The Compliance Collaboratives Portal houses information, resources, and links related to this best practice. The presentation and video from the webinar are available along with a step-by-step guide about how to establish a compliance collaborative in your state.
